DIY solar charge controllers
If you need a simple small solar solution to keep your boat batteries topped up while not in major use or for small usage then a simple DIY solar charge controller will be more than enough to handle the job. these controllers are not as efficient as MPPT charge controllers and in an application where you require a number of panels and have to run equipment and maintain a battery bank that is in use then an MPPT charge controller would be more appropriate. See out DIY MPPT solar charge controllers page for more info on these devices.
Check out our DIY flexible solar panels and DIY Rigid solar panels pages for info on panels for your project.
For a larger system where regular power usage is required, check out our MPPT Solar charge controllers page for info on charge controller for your project.
